The Oakland Army Base
Oakland, CA
As part of the team working to revitalize the Oakland Army Base, we performed extensive deconstruction and salvage work, new warehouse construction, pile testing, trenching and shoring, grading and, paving, utility abandonment and hazardous materials abatement services.
Deconstructed over 600,000 square feet of WWII-era warehouses which involved asbestos and lead abatement (salvaged 1.2M board feet of lumber in the process).
CalTrans: Constructed the new 40,000 square foot Bay Bridge Field Operations Warehouse made of repurposed 40-foot shipping containers. The building’s design required the foundation to be anchored using helical anchors and that all of the containers (including the barrel roof system) be welded together to prevent uplift due to wind.
Utility abandonment for a 10+ acre site
Installation of new 10-inch water line for fire water service to “Building 99.” Water line was 1000 feet long at a depth of seven feet, requiring the full length of trench be shored.
Finish grading and paving of 108,000 square foot industrial truck parking lot.
Wharf Concrete Pile Testing, this scope required San Francisco Bay Conservation & Development Commission approval as the work took place over water.
Removal and transport of federally- and state-regulated hazardous materials including lead, asbestos, and contaminated soils.
